Actor and former child preacher Marjoe Gortner dies at 82

Marjoe Gortner died at 82, the Christian Post reports, citing documentary co-producer Sarah Kernochan and his wife’s statement to Variety. His wife said he died of congestive heart failure in Santa Fe. Gortner’s childhood preaching and later rejection of the revival circuit became the subject of the Oscar-winning documentary Marjoe before his acting career.
