Canada's Retaliatory Tariffs on US Goods Take Effect as the Trade War Grinds On

Canada imposed tariffs on roughly $20 billion of American goods on Tuesday, covering some 700 products including milk, perfume and golf clubs, in response to the latest US tariffs on Canadian imports. Prime Minister Mark Carney said the measures answer Washington's escalation after trade talks collapsed. President Trump responded by threatening to ban Bombardier jet sales, and leaders on both sides warned the dispute could destabilize the world's largest bilateral trading relationship.
