Canada’s Newest Nickel Mine Will Store 1.5 Million Tons of Carbon a Year
A new Canadian nickel mine is designed to sequester roughly 1.5 million tons of carbon annually by mineralizing CO2 in its tailings. The process locks carbon into rock as a byproduct of ordinary operations. Nickel is a key input for battery manufacturing.
