Conservationists Fight to Save a Selma Hotel Tied to the Civil Rights Movement
Selma’s Edistone Hotel, a landmark connected to Reconstruction and the "Bloody Sunday" march, is deteriorating after years of neglect and a recent wall collapse. The Conservation Fund is working to stabilize the building and secure its long-term future. Preservationists say the structure is one of the last physical links to that chapter of Alabama history.
