Denmark reports unauthorized access to 8.8 million personal records

Denmark’s research and digitalization ministry says unauthorized users misused a company’s legitimate CPR-register access to names, addresses and identification numbers for about 8.8 million people, including deceased and emigrated people. The access was suspended. Protected names and addresses were excluded; authorities have not identified the actor or fully explained the incident.
