Astronomers Image the Faintest Planet Ever Seen From Earth
Astronomers discovered a third planet orbiting the star Beta Pictoris, dubbed Beta Pictoris d, which is 100 times fainter than its known sibling and among the lightest exoplanets ever imaged from the ground. It had been hiding in more than a decade of archival telescope data.
