Former House speaker Dennis Hastert dies at 84

Dennis Hastert died Saturday of natural causes at home while receiving hospice care, Kendall County’s coroner said Monday, the Associated Press reports through NPR. He served as House speaker from 1999 to 2007 and later pleaded guilty to evading banking laws in a hush-money case tied to allegations of sexual abuse.
