Georgia sets first-day early-voting record for a midterm

Fox News reports that Georgia election officials counted more than 180,000 ballots on the first day of early voting, over 55,000 above the comparable 2022 total. Early voting continues through Oct. 30. The turnout record does not establish which party will benefit or predict the Nov. 3 result.
