GPS study maps jaguar habitats and corridors across the Americas

Researchers used records from 172 GPS-collared jaguars to model 307 core habitats and 176 corridors from Mexico to northern Argentina, Phys.org reports. The study finds a large South American stronghold alongside vulnerable connections elsewhere. These are predicted pathways for conservation planning, not confirmed routes or newly protected land; field checks are still needed.
