Japan protests Russian extradition requests for ICC officials

Japan protested Russia’s extradition requests for nine International Criminal Court officials, including the court’s Japanese president, Tomoko Akane, AP reports. Moscow sent requests to the Netherlands and other countries Thursday. Japan says it supports the court and will work with partners; the requests have not resulted in extraditions.
