Joni Mitchell announces US citizenship

NBC News reports that Canadian-born singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell announced US citizenship and shared footage of her ceremony. Mitchell, 82, moved to the United States in the 1960s and settled in California. Her announcement did not explain why she chose to naturalize now.
