Kalshi hires former FBI agent to lead anti-money-laundering work

Kalshi hired former FBI agent and prosecutor Sean Fern to lead its first anti-money-laundering team, NPR reports. Fern says the team will monitor customers, funds and suspicious activity and refer concerns to law enforcement. The hiring comes as prediction markets face growing scrutiny; staffing a compliance team does not establish that abuse has been prevented.
