The Largest U.S. Marine Reserves Are Losing Their Protections

The biggest conservation areas the United States has are in the Pacific, where remote islands anchor some of the most intact marine ecosystems left anywhere. The Trump administration is opening those waters to commercial fishing, setting off a fight over whether the reserves survive in any meaningful form.
