A New Etching Method Improves Precision for Silicon Microstructures

via Phys.org·21h ago

Engineers added a thin interlayer to gas-phase metal-assisted chemical etching, improving precision in tall, narrow silicon structures. The plasma-free process is used to make high-aspect-ratio components in micro- and nanotechnology. The refinement addresses a persistent accuracy limit.
