Offshore-wind scenario retains high rare-earth demand in EU study

Tech Xplore reports that an EU energy model found an offshore-wind-focused buildout would retain about 93% of the rare-earth demand of full wind-and-solar expansion despite 22% less capacity. The model assumes constant material needs and excludes grids, storage and electric vehicles. It describes scenarios through 2050, not a forecast.
