Paleontologists Find a New Ice Age Toad Species at the La Brea Tar Pits
Paleontologists identified a previously unknown species of Ice Age toad among fossils recovered from the La Brea Tar Pits. The amphibian’s habitat requirements offer clues about moisture and temperature in ancient Los Angeles. Small vertebrates like these are increasingly used to reconstruct local climate.
