Patterned X-rays reconstruct three-dimensional chemical maps with less data

via Phys.org·7h ago

Bar-Ilan researchers report a technique that reconstructed three-dimensional elemental maps of metal wires and particles with over 97% fewer measurements, Phys.org reports. A patterned beam and computational reconstruction produced a 43-fold speed gain in the experiment. Biological and geological applications are future work, rather than demonstrated clinical uses.
