Senate passes college sports bill covering pay and transfers

The Senate passed the Protect College Sports Act 77–22, NPR reports. It would give the NCAA limited antitrust protection and set national rules for athlete pay, transfers and eligibility. Supporters say it would stabilize college sports; critics say it gives institutions too much power over athletes. House passage remains uncertain.
