Timnit Gebru receives 2026 Right Livelihood Award

Right Livelihood named AI researcher and DAIR founder Timnit Gebru among its 2026 award recipients. The foundation says its jury recognized her work challenging concentrated power in AI and promoting technology shaped by affected communities. Fellow recipients include Pakistani lawyer Jalila Haider, the Rural Women’s Assembly and the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association; the award presentation is December 1 in Stockholm.
