Locals Triple the Protected Seascape Along 300 Miles of Turkish Coastline

A group of conservationists and fishermen on Turkey’s Mediterranean shore, working with one NGO and almost no institutional support, tripled the protected seascape across 300 miles of coast and watched it come back as a biodiverse marine paradise. The fishermen who agreed to the limits are now the ones enforcing them.
