About 1,800 Volunteers Pull a 400-Ton Japanese Castle Keep Back Toward Its Original Site

Roughly 1,800 volunteers took turns hauling on thick ropes to move a 400-ton Japanese castle keep back toward its original location after a decade of restoration work. The chance to help drew thousands of applications from inside Japan and abroad, and lottery winners were chosen to participate. The move is one of the final stages of the long restoration project.
