Fed Chair Kevin Warsh Signals the Central Bank Could Raise Rates to Cool Inflation
In his debut Jackson Hole address, Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh said inflation remains too high and did not rule out an interest rate increase. Warsh said the Fed must be confident underlying inflation is moving to its target 'clearly and at sufficient speed. Otherwise, we have work to do.' The stance puts him at odds with President Trump's stated preference for lower rates.
