Why History Forgot World War II's Largest Prison Break

During the 1944 Cowra breakout, more than 900 Japanese prisoners tried to escape an Allied camp in Australia; 234 of them and five Australians died. It was the largest prison break of the war and almost nobody outside Cowra remembers it.
