Cairns seagrass recovers with a different fish community

A 34-year study found that Cairns Harbour’s seagrass, fish abundance and species richness recovered after severe storms nearly wiped out the habitat, James Cook University reports through Phys.org. The fish community changed rather than returning to its earlier composition. The findings show that habitat recovery can follow a different ecological path.
