California Lawmakers Exempt Linux From the State's Age-Verification Law

California lawmakers voted unanimously to exempt Linux and similar open-source operating systems from the state's new age-verification requirements. Developers had warned the law would be impossible for volunteer-maintained projects to satisfy. The carve-out passed without opposition.
