China nominates Song Li to lead the World Health Organization

China nominated public-health official Song Li to succeed WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, AP reports, and Beijing’s Foreign Ministry confirms. The World Health Assembly will choose the next leader in May. Candidates from six other countries have also been announced; nomination does not establish the election’s outcome.
