Investigators Blame Southern California Edison Equipment for the Deadly Eaton Fire
A long-awaited investigation has concluded that equipment belonging to Southern California Edison caused the 2025 Eaton fire, which killed 19 people and destroyed thousands of homes in Altadena. Fire officials pinned the ignition on "electrical arcing events" at an out-of-service transmission tower. The finding gives victims and insurers a clear target after more than a year of legal fighting over who was responsible for one of the most destructive fires in Los Angeles County history.
