Great ape brain weight stays stable with age in study

A study of brain weights from 601 great apes found no age-related decline comparable to that seen in humans, Nature reports. The cross-sectional analysis covered four ape species. Brain weight does not directly measure cognition, and the result does not establish how an individual animal’s brain changes over time.
