Historical Pollution, Not Current Emissions, Damaged the Murujuga Rock Art

Researchers say past exposure to sulfur dioxide, rather than current industrial emissions, likely explains increased porosity in the Murujuga rock art. The engravings were created by the Ngarda-Ngarli people tens of thousands of years ago and form the world's largest such collection.
