Memory makers expect tight supplies to persist through 2028

Micron and Samsung executives expect memory supplies to remain tight as production shifts toward AI and server chips, Ars Technica reports. Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said most of its 2027 high-bandwidth memory volume is already sold and new manufacturing capacity will ramp gradually. The executives’ outlook suggests continued pressure on consumer-device memory supply; future prices and demand remain uncertain.
