Mike Utley visit highlights support for adaptive-sports equipment

Former Detroit Lions player Mike Utley visited Mary Free Bed’s adaptive-sports program in Grand Rapids, WGVU reports. His foundation has contributed more than $52,000 since 2021 for 14 pieces of specialized equipment. Staff said access matters because some sports wheelchairs cost $5,000, putting them beyond individual participants’ budgets.
