Self-Blinking 'Fairy Lights' Image DNA at Nearly Double-Helix Resolution

Researchers developed fluorescent molecules that blink on and off by themselves, allowing DNA packaging to be imaged inside living cells at unprecedented resolution. In preserved cells the technique approaches the width of the double helix itself. The method avoids the harsh chemistry earlier approaches required.
