A Spanish Cave Suggests Roman Women Worshipped a Mysterious Goddess
Researchers working deep inside a Spanish cave have found evidence that Roman women gathered there to worship a goddess whose identity remains unclear. The offerings and inscriptions point to a ritual site used over generations. Scholars say the discovery adds to a thin record of women's religious practice in the Roman provinces.
