Ant brain study links early development with readiness to forage

via Phys.org·18h ago

Boston University researchers found that most brain regions in Stigmatomma pallipes ants reach maximum size before adulthood, Phys.org reports from their peer-reviewed study. These workers can forage and care for larvae immediately, while neural connections continue reorganizing later.
