An Immigrant Held at Delaney Hall Dies, the 22nd Death in ICE Custody This Year

Edwin Lopez-Cornejo, 41, died on August 1 at the Delaney Hall detention facility in New Jersey following what the Department of Homeland Security described as a medical emergency. It is the 22nd death recorded in ICE custody this year, and Gov. Sherrill renewed calls to close the facility.
