Improved homes linked to fewer hospital admissions among New Zealand children

University of Otago researchers modeled 30% lower hospitalization risk over five years among more than 17,000 children enrolled in New Zealand’s Healthy Homes Initiative, Phys.org reports. The program provides heating, insulation and other improvements to low-income homes. The analysis estimates benefits from program data; it is not a randomized trial.
