Levitated glass sphere becomes entangled with light in room-temperature lab

via Phys.org·12h ago·2 sources

Researchers measured entanglement between a 100-nanometre glass sphere’s motion and light, Phys.org and Italy’s CNR optics institute report. Two lasers stabilized and probed the sphere inside a near-vacuum optical cavity while the lab remained at room temperature. The laboratory result may aid quantum-network research; a working communication network has not been demonstrated.
