Pakistan Merges Indus River Dolphin Sanctuaries to Protect 250 Miles of Habitat
Pakistan combined separate river dolphin reserves along the Indus into a single protected corridor covering about 250 miles. The Indus river dolphin is among the most endangered freshwater cetaceans. Conservationists say a continuous habitat removes gaps where fishing pressure was heaviest.
