Prairie-seed study finds distinct commercial and Tribal networks

South Dakota State University researchers used 60 interviews to map native prairie seed networks in the Northern Great Plains, Phys.org reports. They found commercial restoration systems alongside Tribal networks connecting seeds with food, medicine and sovereignty. The findings suggest support should respect each network’s goals; the study does not establish that merging them would improve restoration.
