Review links conservation bright spots to local decision-making

A University of Sydney review of more than 70 studies finds recurring roles for local knowledge, community decision-making and adaptive management in conservation success, Phys.org reports. Cases span reefs, chimpanzees and other ecosystems. The synthesis offers a framework for learning from success; it does not prove a universal recipe or reverse broader environmental decline.
