Graphene coating improves platinum catalyst durability in laboratory tests

via Tech Xplore·15h ago

Nagoya University researchers report that a graphene-coated platinum catalyst retained 96.9% of its active surface after 30,000 accelerated fuel-cell cycles, Tech Xplore reports. The ACS Catalysis study suggests a route to greater durability and lower platinum use. It is a laboratory result; longer vehicle life or commercial performance has not been demonstrated.
