via NASA·11h ago·2 sources

Webb observations traced the most distant known fast radio burst to a star-forming dwarf galaxy whose light traveled more than 10 billion years, NASA and ESA report. MeerKAT detected the burst in 2024; Webb established its host’s distance. The finding informs possible origins of these brief radio flashes, whose physical mechanism remains uncertain.
