H.E.S.S. search tightens limits on dark-matter signals without detecting one

via Phys.org·7h ago·2 sources

The H.E.S.S. team found no significant gamma-ray line in 546 hours of observations toward the Milky Way’s center, Phys.org reports from researcher interviews. The analysis sets tighter limits on proposed dark-matter annihilation signals. Its strongest constraints depend on assumptions about the galaxy’s dark-matter distribution; dark matter was not identified.
